Trust in this district has eroded among parents, teachers, the board, and our communities. Parents feel unheard, and teachers feel unsupported, school leaders feel threatened. That must change. I will work to rebuild
trust by welcoming community voices, listening to parents, supporting teachers, and restoring confidence in district leadership.
STRENGTHEN NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS
School Closures should be a last resort. First, we must work with parents to strengthen our schools, keep the students we have, and win families back. By listening to parents, rebuilding trust, and acting on their concerns, we can grow enrollment and build stronger neighborhood schools.
RESTORE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Salt Lake City School District is dealing with a $16 million deficit. That is unacceptable. School board members are trustees of public funds, and the community deserves a board that takes that responsibility seriously— one that prioritizes classrooms over administrative overhead and demands full fiscal transparency.
